Frequently Asked Questions
If you don’t see your question listed below, please feel free to contact me.
Yes. I value high quality care and strong relationships with my clients and their pets. Your pet will see the same familiar, caring face each day and you’ll have the peace of mind knowing there aren’t different people coming in and out of your home. You and your pet will feel safer and happier.
For the safety and well-being of your dog and others, I always walk your dog on leash. I want to make sure your dog is well cared for and completely under control while he/she is in my care.
Many of my clients have needs that change week to week, month to month, or season to season.
At this time I am only offering dog walking and drop-ins. If you have any questions about pet sitting please ask. I also have an option to do multiple drop-ins in a single day.
Yes. Weekend and holiday care must be booked with proper notice, I do not provide “on call” service on weekends or holidays.
I want your dog’s time to be special so I will only walk your pet during their visit. If you want more socialization for your dog I am happy to provide a walk with other neighboring dogs or with Murphy and/or Lucy at your request.
I love cats too! Cat care and other small animal care can be booked for the same cost as dog walks. Cats living in the home of my dog walking clients can have their care added to my dog walking visit at no additional cost but may take away from your dogs walking time so keep that in mind when booking and consider booking a longer walk if needed.
My policy is as long as the weather does not pose a threat/harm to me or your pet, I will stay on schedule as much as possible to ensure proper care during scheduled walks. When such weather occurs and poses a threat/harm to be outside, please understand that your dog’s walk may be shortened to a quick potty break. However, I will stay with your dog for the duration of the scheduled visit inside the safety of your home. I will make sure to communicate any changed immediately.
In order to avoid last minute changes to the schedule, cancellations must be made by 4pm the day before service to avoid being charged. Cancellations received after the 4pm deadline will be charged 50% of the full service fee. Wether related cancellations will be handled on a case by case basis and will be exempt to this policy.
I only use positive reinforcement and reward based training methods. I utilize your dogs favorite things (treats, praise, petting, play) to teach and encourage proper behavior. Dogs can have many different motivations and rewards systems they respond best to so I customize my services for you and your dogs needs.
